There are an estimated 162,000 homeless residents in California. In Contra Costa County, the 2022 point-in-time count estimates that 3,093 people are staying in shelter beds or living outdoors on an average night, compared to 2,295 in 2019. Our Homeless Resource Closet provides basic needs to clients of Employment & Human Services who are unsheltered. A new warm coat is a must-have living in the Bay Area, as the weather at night can be very cold and during the day very unpredictable. Our closet provides new items to help those who are sleeping rough: warm coats, socks, street shoes (sneakers), hoodies, sleeping bags, hygiene kits, and luggage/backpacks at no cost to EHSD clients.
Your donations show compassion to our vulnerable neighbors in need. Please, only new items will be accepted. For more information or to arrange delivery, please contact (925) 655-1208 or fill out the item donation form to schedule with our office.
